This iPad™ and Macintosh™ application lets you manage all sorts of transactions implying financial accounts and watch the evolution of all kinds of personal assets and liabilities. It is meant to be used by a single person, so there is no real-time data synchronization. However, portfolios created by Gama Asset Manager can optionally be made accessible and be modified by the everyday companion application for iPhone™ Gama Pocket. Data integrity is always preserved since no portfolio can be open at the same time in Gama Asset Manager or Gama Pocket.

Gama Pocket and the standard Gama Asset Manager apps only handle monetary investments. The extended versions of Gama Asset Manager allow you to manage the full range of investments.

Portfolios

A portfolio contains all the financial data and is autonomous. Financial data include investments, accounts and expense/income categories. Assets and liabilities are defined as the values of all accounts and investments at any given time. The portfolio’s value is just the difference between the assets and the liabilities. Some charts display the evolution in time of the different kinds of assets or combinations thereof.

The ROI in % is expressed by the formula: (end value – start value) / start value x 100. The annual ROI also takes the time frame into account and is used to compare the return of different kinds of assets over one year.
